2027 Sea Slugs Calendar
Twelve months of the ocean’s most colourful oddballs. This A4 wall calendar features sea slugs photographed by Underwater Lens. Every month brings a new slug, and each one is stranger than the last.
Meet the leaf sheep (Costasiella sp.), a sea slug about the size of a grain of rice. It keeps the chloroplasts from the algae it eats. Look for the black-and-gold Cyerce nigra, with its ruffled frill of leaf-like cerata. And find Melibe colemani, the “ghost nudi”: a see-through nudibranch so well camouflaged that photographers call it the holy grail.
Fun fact for the reef nerds: not every slug in here is a nudibranch. The leaf sheep and Cyerce are sacoglossans, or “sap-sucking” sea slugs. Hence the name: Sea Slugs, not Nudibranchs.
A perfect gift for divers, macro photographers and anyone who’s ever squealed at something tiny and weird underwater.
